So I did this tour on my own, well I say on my own, it was with 6 other lovely girls and the tour guide, Alfie. Going for something like this on my own though is something I never would have done back home, or even considered doing here, but I am so happy I did.
In the morning, Alfie drove us all down to Rockingham. We Kayaked from there to seal island, although it's sea lions that inhabit the island, not seals. One of them even gave us a wave. Just doing that tinniest bit of kayaking proved quickly just how un-frickin-fit I really am! On the way though, we saw at least six dolphins, all swimming and jumping alongside us! Seriously such an amazing feeling. From there we went to penguin island, which felt like another bloody marathon in itself. We had time to relax on the beach and soak up the rays, where I realised I look like a female version of the milky bar kid. It's quite possible I'm the palest human in Australia.
Penguin Island is such a beautiful place and all the penguins we saw were ridiculously cute. Constantly thought of 'Madagascar' while we were there. The last part of out trip involved a small rescue mission to save one of our kayakes a couple had taken out, apparently we did so well that Alfie bought us all delicious apple cider for the way home. Blissful!
