My first day here was pretty tough I'll admit. As much as getting on and off planes and getting on a bus here, was quite simple, the hard part was actually walking into an empty room, dumping my overly large rucksack, and thinking 'Well what do I do now?'. I actually ended up meeting a really nice German girl called Leonni, who I went into town with that evening to see the Christmas lights.
On the Monday I ended up meeting Grienne (its irish if you were wondering) and Keiran, two lovely gals travelling around Oz for 3 weeks. We spent three days hanging out and seeing some sights of Perth. OBVIOUSLY seeing a Kangaroo was first on the list. I know it's such a cliche but you can't come to Oz and not see one, can you?! We also went out drinking a couple of nights (The brass monkey was my fav, a little home from home) taking a trip to Freemantle, and taking a visit to kings park, all of which had the most incredible views!
Today was a struggle I'll be honest. I almost don't want to say that because I know some people reading this will be thinking 'Your day was a struggle? Oh I'm sorry its such a struggle over the other side of the world where you have no job and blazing sunshine'. Well it fucking is! I had no idea how tough it could be travelling alone, getting up in the morning and wanting to speak to friends or family, but not being able to because you know they're asleep and most likely have work in the morning. Rough day, but speaking to my ma and bro helped. Oh and the massive glass of Shiraz I had at a water front bar may have cheered me up a little.
ANYWAY, here are some delightful pictures for you to feast your eyes upon!

A busy first few days and some nice pics. Well done on seeing a roo already, it was several months before I saw one!
ReplyDeleteKeep up the blogging, it's good to hear what you're up to. Weather looks fantastic, here the weather is grey with an ongoing chance of grey.
And worry not - it does all get easier, I promise.
